About ParaVenture

ParaVenture is a virtual Paranormal Convention/Paracon taking place on Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 9am to 5pm EST.  Some of the proceeds will go to Autism Support of Michigan.

Tickets are available on the event page of this website. General admission is $35 along with options to increase your ticket to provide more of a donation to the cause. Tickets range from $35 to $45 for extra donations. There are also VIP tickets at $50 which includes extended coverage of event, possibly some special guests, as well as 1 entry into each giveaway. (only 1 win in the event per name, then considered void).

The parent company of this event is Own Your Path (OYP), which works to empower others to learn how to translate their steps in life, learn to work with them, and to advocate for themselves while knowing that OYP is here for help. Our goal is to help you to own and be proud of each of your steps in life!

This is the first event of this kind for OYP and there will be many more to come in all areas of life besides the Paranormal.

OYP's CEO Kelly Haapala has worked with autistic children and families as a volunteer and an advocate all of her life as well as being the worldwide spokesperson for the Anesthesia Awareness Campaign for over two decades. In her work, she has realized the enormous need for help within the autistic community in Michigan and around the world. She is currently working with local court systems, health departments, schools and the state's organizations in autism and knows that more needs to be done.

OYP works with individuals in every area of life and decided that the tremendously supportive and caring paranormal community around the world would be the best representatives to begin with for this endeavor.

About Autism Alliance of Michigan

Autism Alliance of Michigan was founded with the vision that people with autism will lead lives that meet their greatest potential. We lead efforts to raise expectations and expand opportunities for people touched by autism across the lifespan.

Our Misson
We lead efforts to raise expectations and expand opportunities for people touched by autism across the lifespan.

Our Vision
People with autism will lead lives that meet their greatest potential.

Our History
AAoM was founded in 2009 out of a need to address significant service and reimbursement barriers for individuals and families living with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).

We believe that every family should have access to services to assist with education goals, to create a safety plan to keep their child from wandering, to enjoy resources and entertainment venues in their community, and to access housing, transportation and employment for independent living. In short, we believe no family member should be limited because they have autism.

Through our three Pillars of Work, AAoM has served over 40,000 people throughout the state and continues to lead efforts to raise expectations and expand opportunities for people touched by autism across the lifespan.
